About this Mission
Vision & Significance
In Vedic tradition, the cow (Gau) represents abundance, nurturing, and the divine feminine. Lord Krishna is known as Govinda (protector of cows). The cow provides milk, ghee, dung (fuel and fertiliser), and urine (natural pesticide) — an entire ecosystem of sustenance without harming the animal.
Gau Seva Framework:
- •Cow Protection (Gauraksha): Establishing and supporting gaushalas (cow shelters) that provide dignified care for abandoned, injured, and elderly cows.
- •Cow-Based Economy: Promoting Panchagavya products — milk, ghee, dung cakes, gobar gas, and natural pesticides — as a sustainable village economy model.
- •Anti-Cruelty Advocacy: Campaigning against illegal cattle slaughter, transportation cruelty, and the commercial exploitation of cattle.
- •Breed Conservation: Preserving indigenous Indian cattle breeds like Gir, Sahiwal, and Red Sindhi that are genetically adapted to Indian conditions.
Our Initiatives
Vishwa Guru Bharat serves Gaumata through gaushala support, cow-based farming promotion, breed conservation, and anti-cruelty advocacy.
- •Gaushala Network: Supporting a network of gaushalas across India with veterinary care, fodder supply, and management training.
- •Panchagavya Training: Teaching farmers to prepare and use Panchagavya (five cow products) as organic fertiliser and natural pesticide.
- •Indigenous Breed Programs: Running breeding programs that preserve and multiply indigenous cattle breeds with superior milk quality and heat tolerance.
- •Rescue Operations: Intercepting illegal cattle transportation and rescuing cows destined for slaughter, placing them in certified gaushalas.
Serve Gaumata
In Indian tradition, serving the cow is among the highest acts of dharma. Every act of Gau Seva brings blessings and contributes to a compassionate society.
How You Can Serve:

What is a gaushala?
A gaushala is a cow shelter or sanctuary where abandoned, injured, and elderly cows receive dignified care including food, veterinary treatment, and shelter. Vishwa Guru Bharat supports a network of gaushalas across India.
